has anyone else ever heard about pci 2.1 compliant video cards running successfully in 2.0 compliant slots? Is it luck of the draw when it happens or is there someway to gage which cards might be more likely to work than others? I have an advanced atx thor motherboard. I recently upgraded my processor to an evergreen spectra 333. I would like to ditch my aging matrox video card. A friend offered me a creative labs s3dfx 3d blaster pci 2.1 compliant. Should I even bother trying? Is there anything I might tweak to stack the odds in my favor? Thanks in advance.
