PCAnywhere version problems

Hi. I'm accessing from home through Windows 2000 Adv Server (Linksys router) to my office PCs.
For some reason, home PC and office PCs have version 10 and the Windows 2000 Adv server has version 11 installed. Only 1 office workstation has version 11 installed.

The problem is, I can access either the server or one of the work stations that the version 11 is installed, but not the ones that the version 10 is installed. Every setting is correct except the version problem. It seems that different versions are not completely compatable. Is there a way to resolve this issue except purchasing version 11? Thank you in advance.

I have heard others say that but I haven't ran into that. I use 11 and access plenty of older versions, and I am pretty sure that I have used my 10.5 to access 11's before I upgraded. Make sure you are using encryption levels. I use the pcanywhere level without issue, maybe try that. But as far as I am aware it is all compatible. If not I know for a fact that 11 accesses all the older versions, so you would only have to upgrade your home computer.

Hi, Bospruell. I finally got a version 11 and installed in a workstation, and set the same encryption level in both host and remote computers. Still, no luck yet. Is there anything I need to do specially in host computer such as port settings, service settings or firewall settings? Currtently the firewall is set to off, so I don't think that's the issue.

I figured it out! It WAS the problem of the version. I found version 10 is not fully compatible with version 11 in my case. After upgrading host PC to version 11, and set up the router, it works.
