Hi,

does anybody know whether it's possible to connect two PC by firewire? (both are equipped with the same type of PCI Firewire card.) I have found an alpha version of driver for Linux on ieee1394.sourceforge.net, but are there any drivers for WinXP (or are the bundled drivers fine for this)?
And do I need any special cable to connect it or I can use a standard 6pin-6pin cable?

Thanks in advance.

If you mean laplink over parallel port, I don't think it can maintain the speed of Firewire (cca 50MBps) since it supports speeds only up to 4Mbps. I'm looking for this mainly because of the speed.

Yes, you can link to pc's by the 1394. I have my two xp machines doing so. No, anything besides xp to xp, you will have to put more effort into it. XP has the abillity built in. Or there is a piece of software you can use that comes with Sound Blaster Audigy "Forgot name of software".
