A friend of mine has the HP Pavilion 512c. The PC has 2 slots for RAM, where each stick can be 1GB. The PC's specs indicate that it takes PC2100 DDR (266mhz). I have a stick of PC2700 (333mhz) and was wondering if it would work (like, would the chipset/fsb on the mobo treat it as tho it were the slower PC2100/266mhz). Thanks in advance!

All signs point to yes!

Occasionally, you run across a particular stick of RAM that doesn't play well with certain motherboards. But there should be nothing wrong with faster DDR in a slower DIMM socket, which like you said, will just run at the slower speed.
