pc won't boot up...but i have amber and green lights on the front...
The pc was working fine on saturday and I went to turn it on and the amber and green light came on. I instantly thought it was the power supply can I swaped out the power supply with a similiar pc and it won't come one. However the other PC will turn on with the power supply. I have tried reseating the memory, the cmos, and anything else I could find on the mother board. I also took the hard drive out of the bad PC and place it in another machine and it booted up fine. This makes me think there is something wrong with the mother board. I am running out of things to try....any suggestions would be appreaciated.

Probably there is a short somewhere.
Start by disconnecting the power\on switch where it connects to the mobo and use a flat screwdriver instead. IF that works then its the switch, they are very cheap.

If that doesnt do it, and a re-seating of all connectors and ram doesnt do it, then take out all extra pci cards and try to boot up.
If that fails, then you should take the mobo right out of the case and go with the minimum, video, keyboard, mouse, one stick of ram, monitor, power supply, nothing else, and see if it will boot now.

Try the BIOS reset jumper, your CMOS battery may be bad.

Yup, forgot that one, its faster than taking mobo out of the case!
