Hey,
I'm trying to view my digibox TV through my laptop. I've seen a few different posts for this sort of thing but can't work out how to do it!

I have a cable that runs from the DigiBox output to a connector, then into the TV socket on the back of my laptop. Is this a "TV OUT" only socket? The icon next to it has an S, then what looks like an old TV with an aerial on the top, and it has an arrow coming out to the right.

Can I use this socket to input my DigiBox into my laptop?
As I write this - I get the feeling it's a dumb question!!
Just want to make sure though.

Is there another way to get my DigiBox (or TV) to output to my laptop?

Assuming I manage to get my DigiBox to output to my laptop, what software would I use to watch TV on?

The TV cable I have has a TV out adaptor on one end (as mentioned above) and a scart addaptor on the other (with an INPUT/OUTPUT switch).

My specs are:
Compaq nx7010
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Processor : Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.70GHz
ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9200

Any advice appreciated!

Cheers guys,

and to answer your question, yes that is an Output Only SVideo socket.

Thanks guys.

What about outputting my laptop to my TV?

It sounds like the TV out is the obvious way to go.

Do you know if, when I have it all conected up correctly, the output is similar to when connected to an OHP?

That is, will I need to cycle through as follows:
laptop only
laptop+TV
TV only

Thanks,

Depands on what video adaptor you have in your laptop. The advanced button in video settings tab should take you to all of the display options you have available.
