One of the PCs on my home network cannot see the wireless network but it sees every other wireless network in range. Previously it had been connecting fine. It's a laptop running XP Pro. So I changed the SSID on the router and it saw it again. Changed the SSID back to what it was and it was still OK. Then a day later same thing again but no matter what I do with the router, the laptop won't see it. Every other wireless device is able to connect.

If I had to guess, I would think the main culprit is either your wireless device driver or the device itself flaking out.

Try verifying what your hardware is, and see if you can try a different driver.

Thanks for the reply. I managed to get it to work by restoring the router to default and then adding back my setting. It was a problem with the wireless NIC but somehow it just won't see that wlan as it was, maybe something incorrect was cached, I don't know.

Seen this before when you have 3rd party wireless apps running. Windows wan't to use it's own and the 3rd party wan't to use it's settings.
I tend to disable any 3rd party ones and just use zero config on windows.

Most people spend their time on the "urgent" rather than on the "important."
