PC Speakers have no sound

Hey guys,
My friends PC has 2 extra speakers and a sub woofer. The speakers indicate that they have power because the green light is on but there is no sound coming from them. Any tips on troubleshooting this? I also plugged head phones directly into the jacks in back of the pc and no sound...

Make sure that the audio drivers are in stalled and up to date.

Ok he just told me that he didnt have internet and this at&t guy came in and replaced his ethernet port because it was fried. Maybe hes audio port is bad too. We've been having storms here in Florida everyday.Ill will check all the drivers first.
