My computer keeps giving a message " your computer is critically low in resources." I have 128 Mb ram and do not have too many applications open at the same time . Any ideas please ?

More information please. Like what operating system, when did you start getting these messages, do they start as soon as you log on or only after some time. Is there any other problem with your machine.

Sorry about the lack of detail I am using windows 95 and have basic MS Office 97 plus Outlook as well . I generally get the error when running Access !

Difficult to diagnose.

1. Virus check?
2. Have you got Typical role of machine set to Network Server (file system proerties in system properties) - it should be (rather than desktop comouter - manages resource better) on win95 with 128MB RAM
3. Have you got things loading at startup? Use this app to view and control this 4. When you've just logged on, under the performance tab in system properties what % system resources are showing as free? (should be over 90%).
5. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del (just once) to get list of running apps (this goes with point 3) - is there anything
6. If I remember rightly (haven't used 95 seriously for a long time), there were some documented 'memory leaks' in win95 which M$ released fixes for - don't know how easy to diagnose & find nowadays - this page may be useful 7. Have you got the FindFast option of MS Office enabled (I know this can eat resources & its basically useless)? Uninstall it if you have.

Hope this helps (but wouldn't bet on it!)
