When I start programs like Adobe Premier or Pixela ImageMixer (Sony video camera download program) the PC reboots. Why? What can I look for to resolve this issue? Thanks!

is there any messages in event viewer regarding this problem?
only that 2 programs can force a reboot or others too?
it happens always or just sometimes?
did you checked a PC for a viruses?
enable auditing , start those progs. then see the audit logs - it can point you to solution.

A longshot, it seems like when you're launching programs that are using alot of your gpu it reboots. Check if your graphic card is sharing IRQ with another device, if it is, try moving that other device to another pci slot.

Regards

The only message I can find in the event viewer is the first one when the system comes back up. Here it is:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001e (0xc0000005, 0xb3cc375b, 0x00000000, 0x00000411). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: C:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini060503-01.dmp.

The only three programs that I have found that cause the problem are the ones that allow me to capture from my video camera such as Ulead MediaStudio Pro 6.0, Pixela ImageMixer and Adobe Premier. Like in Pixela, right when I go to the capture screen it reboots without warning. While starting Adobe Premier or Ulead MediaStudio (and it's loading the DLL's) it reboots (I can't tell which one it stops at). It always happens, never fails.

I have scanned the PC for virus with the latest McAfee but found nothing.

I don't know how to turn on any auditing.

I checked to see what devices were using the same IRQ:

9 Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System
11 RADEON 9100 SERIES
11 Realtek RTL8139(A)-based PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter #2
11 VIA USB Universal Host Controller
11 VIA USB Universal Host Controller
11 VIA AC'97 Enhanced Audio Controller (WDM)
14 Primary IDE Channel
15 Secondary IDE Channel
8 System CMOS/real time clock
13 Numeric data processor
6 Standard floppy disk controller
4 Communications Port (COM1)
3 Communications Port (COM2)
12 Logitech-compatible Mouse PS/2
1 Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard
10 MPU-401 Compatible MIDI Device

I can't seem to change the IRQ for the video card or the NIC.

I appreciate all assistance on this. I would hate to have to reinstall EVERYTHING again.

Thanks!

I uninstalled the USB drivers for Windows, rebooted and it worked until I installed the WeeCam drivers, then it started again. So I uninstalled the USB drivers again without installing the WeeCam and all is well.

Thanks for your help guys!
