hello,

my pc all of a sudden when i start it up i have this black screen with

safe mode
safe mode with networking
last known good configuration
etc
etc

no matter which one i choose it reboots back to the same screen will not boot to windows

thanks

First thing to check would be your power on\off switch and your reset switch.
I would unhook both from your motherboard, noting where they were connected.
Then take a flat screwdriver and touch the flat part of the screwdriver against the 2 power on\off pins on the motherboard.
If it starts up properly then one of the 2 is your culprit.
You could even just unhook the reset first and try to power up, but if that doesnt do it then unhook the power on\off as well and use the screwdriver.
Bear in mind that you may still have to get past that screen the first time, but it shouldnt come up again if the problem is fixed. You could try clicking on last known good when you do the screwdriver trick.

Good advice + great people = tek-tips
