PC program doesn't work through ethernet port on set

Users use a program that won't run on there PC through the ethernet port on the set but if they bypass the phone and use the same switch port directly it runs fine.
BCM 50 / 1140, 1210 and 1230 sets / problem software is Nova - Day One / using voice and data VLANs /

I should add that the program runs but it seems to loose packets or not run fast enough or something so that it fails to run properly.

go into the phone settings and change the data from auto to 100mbs which is no 2 and set full duplex from auto to 100mbs which is no2..this should allow the phone to pass packets faster.
