Hi All,
Brief background: We are using SUN PC Netlink running on Solaris 8 (Sparc); with couple of virtual NT servers.

From NT side, event logs defaults to recycle (over-write existing records) after a set period of time. However, we would like to maintain an archive of all event-logs in one location in the Unix file system for at least 52 weeks.
Now to my question: For fear of running out of space on the file system, we want to tar/move event-log files periodically to an archive location. But the problem is I can't find the default location of the event log files or could be that I just don't know what SUN calls it here. Do anyone has an idea where the logs are located & what it is called in the Unix file system.

Accept my thanks in advance.
