My pc is slow, its a 1.5ghz pentium 4 with 384mb rdram, when I have my pc running with all the programs that I want I have about 240mb ram free yet everything feels slow. If I have 2 internet explorer pages open and I reduce one to the taskbar and then maximize it again it takes about 5 seconds to redraw the page. My favorites in internet explorer take about 3 seconds and all their icons keep redrawing. programs take about 5 seconds to start that only took 1 second in millenium. I have switched off all services I dont need, defragmented and have no spyware or viruses as I have run an up to date check. this never used to happen with xp

use HiJackThis to help you in finding if you have anything extra you dont need running and not that this really helps with your IE problem but have you thought about using Mozilla.

I removed the 811493:Security Update file from my system when it started acting like yours is and the problem disappeared.
