PC & IPphone down same cat5 cable

Any help guys ? we have many BPS,460,470,s running data & ip phones .somebody told me we could implement both pc & ip phone down the same cat 5 cable hence halving our port consumption,and using vlan tagging and seperate pvid for voice.
Any advice on how this works ??

Check the config/release notes for the latest versions.
You have several options now for tag ports.
Use tagging for each vlan except for the default one.
That is the way you can configure both the phone and the pc on the same port

The phone can also tag VLAN id of the dataport on the phone. So you can have 2 tagged VLANs on the phone, but onlly if it's the new PHASE II sets.

Thanks guys ,tried "tag all" on the test port ,plugged ip phone into it & then pc into other ethernet connection of ip phone . 2 vlans come down the test port one for Ip phone & other for data , both configured for dhcp.
Didnt work ,I expected the pc to connect !cos Iam a data guy & maybe fault with the phone ,
Any ideas guys

YOu need to use the Untage PVId only config

Put port in both voice and data vlan then set PVid to data vlan and Rather than making it a trunk port set it to Untag PVID only.

Thanks jonks , it works for us too BUT puts phone into same vlan as pc and we didnt want this as we need to set "QOS" on to the ip phone vlan.Is yours the same scenario ??

We have to configure the voice vlan on the phone manually. i have heard there is a way to do it automatically though. You will need to setup a dhcp relay on your core switch and a new scope on you dhcp server so the phone picks up the correct ip
