I installed win98 and office98 in my Pc.and when I finished my Pc was open,so I cover it.Then when I boot up my PC it demanded that I should insert a bootable disk.Help on what to do.

It is common sometimes that when you put cases together that something might get jarred loose, i would open the case make sure everything is tight reboot and check... rule of thumb in most every PC shop is to do a final boot after everything is together just to make sure.

Thanks a lot for your reply.Well I have done it but not good no way.Any time I even aloud my system open to boot up it still ask me to use a bootable dis.I am very grateful with your response.

Asking for a boot disk indicates that there is no operating system on the hard disk or no hard disk found. This can be anything from a hard disk failure, to cable, to a CMOS error.
Is the hard disk seen by the BIOS during bootup? Ed Fair
Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply. Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

Your PC may have too many components crammed in (multiple Hard drives?), so that with the cover on, there is insufficient cooling, the drive heats up, and the calibration is so much affected that it can't find boot tracks. Try leaving the cover on, with the PC unplugged overnight, then power it up. If it finds the hard drives then, but loses them later, you have a cooling problem. Just because there are holes to mount components, doesn't mean they system will work properly with all of the drive bays full. Fred Wagner

just in case, also check to see if you advertanly left a floppy disk in, this will give you an invalid system disk and ask for a boot disk also,
