Hi,

I was remoting a pc in work today via VNC and the thing just seemed to lock up on me. I tried to click the start menu and "my computer" but nothing. Now I can't access it via VNC or any other means, which means i'm going to have to physically go and power it down, which is really annoying. I know its still up and on the network as it replies to a ping and I can still map network drives to it.

It has started happening on a few machines now. Does anyone have any experiences of these types of symptoms and know of any fixes for this ?

It is also happening when I try to perform a standard restart on them, it just appears to hang on the "saving your settings" box prior to shutting down. It doesn't move from this state until I physically power down the machines.

Help,

Cheers, M.

Start by getting the computer up and running and checking for any eventviewer errors that look related.
