PC (Dell Dimension 4400) with XP dies silently

My Dell Dimension 4400 dies regularly and silently after some time (between a day and 2-3 days). It has never done this while I am using it (it is mostly in a closet). But when I come back to it I often find it completely unresponsive to mouse or keyboard, & have to power-cycle (no reset button on this one).

No warnings or errors seem to show up in the event logs.

I did a separate fresh install of XP and it still dies.

What can I do to diagnose and repair?

1)Try diabling any hibernation features in your Power Settings.
2)Look for bulging or leaking capacitors on the motherboard.
