PC Console Attendant

Has anyone else had this problem with the PC Console Attendant software?

The software will work fine for a few months, then all of a sudden freeze and not allow calls to be transferred. When this happens, you can still access other windows programs on the PC and you can still exit the program.

Restarting the program and rebooting the PC do not fix the problem. The only thing that fixes it is to re-install PC Console.

The software uses an Access 97 database it populates with station information and caller ID records. This database can be compacted, but it does not help. When the program is re-installed it rebuilds the database with no call records.

No suggestions. But I have a customer who is interested in this thing so please keep the post current on your progress.

Is the problem associated with a nearly full hard drive and low ram level?

I do not think it is a system problem because the overall system performance and the Windows portion of the application remains stable.

Have you seen any other of these type of PC Attendant products that work with Norstar? (I know they have Meridian versions). Robert Harris

I havn't used it as yet. That is why I was asking those questions. Do I read correctly that the PC Console you are describing is not a Nortel product?

No, that's not what I meant. - This is the PC Console Attendant that works with Norstar. I wondered if there were any third party products that performed the same function. Robert Harris

Sorry bad wording on my part... I did mean to ask if this was PC Console software as sold by Nortel.
