We are running Windows 2003 AD. I am getting complaints that eh PC clocks are 10 minutes off. I checked our DC's and they are all 10 minutes slow.

First off, how do i change the clocks on my DC without causing any issues.

Second, is there any automatic time sync between DC and PC? I didn't think their was.

Thanks,
Andrew

Yes there is automatic time sync between servers and PC's.

In order for your clocks to be dead on you can have one of the Domain controllers sync their time with an external time server. NIST servers are commonly used. From a command prompt you can run "net time" and this will display your current time server and the time it shows. Run net time /setsntp and you can add the time servers you want to use. Net time /? will give you all the instructions for setting up a time server a time server.

If you are behind a firewall you may need to open port 123 from your server to whatever you set your external time server to.

But if I chance the clock on one of my DC's, will that change filter to the rest? Or should I set each one manually?

Thanks,
Andrew

In an Active Directory enviorment the workstations will sync to the Domain Controller automatically

What I did was set one of my domain controllers to sync with an outside server. From there the correct time propogated throughout the organization.
