Can anyone explain to me why my date and time would changed by itself? It happens about every 20 seconds or so.

Other than a setting for Internet Time (right-click clock, Set Date/Time, Internet Time tab) there is no good reason:

. Control Panel, Scheduled Tasks
Any scheduled task related to Time?

. Scan for malware
faq608-4650

If in a Domain, check your authoratative time server, usually the DC.

What is it changing from and changing to?

System clock is running very fast
thread779-1290672

it could also be from a server.. if you are on novell or something else (timesync)

its changing to tomorrow's date and about and hour and 15 min ahead. I am not on a server right now.

Is the system time in the Bios correct and keeping correct time?

Are your Regional Settings and Time Zone set correctly?

Do you see this behavior from Safe Mode, or from another user in Normal Mode?

You can try this suggestion, often posted by "Bcastner"

"copy the below into a notepad session, naming the file fix_time.cmd

***** begin copy/paste below this line *********
net stop w32time
w32tm /unregister
w32tm /unregister
w32tm /register
net start w32time
********* end copy/paste above this line ******"

There might be an applicaton your running that is affecting the windows clock.

Gaining time usually has the same causes as losing time. It is generally
related to some software installed on the system.

There have been problems in the past with Dell Machines and time. Also some Anti Virus software has been known to cause problems. You can check it out at -
