PC Anywhere via modem through Avaya Partner ACS

I am trying to set up remote access to a PC using symantec pcanywhere via a telephone dial-up connection through a partner acs r6 system with a voice mail card. I currently have two phone lines one of which also carries my DSL connection.

I have tried to assign the computer an extension and then transfer to that extension via the autoattendant prompt.

So far I am having no success. Is it possible to do this through the partner acs system or do I need to have a dedicated phone line outside the partner acs box.

Suggestions or advice appreciated.

It is possible, but what kind of administration are you trying to do? Administration on the ACS or Administration of the PC network?

I want to access the PC remotely to access software and exchange files. I have set up the pcAnywhere host application on the network server (running Windows XP) and am trying to access it from a laptop also running pcAnwhere on Windows XP. Currently I have two outside phone lines. One I publish as our fax number the other as our phone number. Both lines are answered by the auto-attendant after 4 rings.

My idea was to set up the PC on a seperate extension which could be chosen through the auto-attendant menu. For some reason I have not been able to get the host computer to respond. The caller gets flipped back to the auto-attendant menu.

So which voice mail are you using? It's possible that you need to create a transfer-only mailbox for the modem extension (if you're using Partner Messaging), or set a selector code to direct-extension-transfer if the modem extension starts with a different digit than all the other office extensions (if the modem is say, Ext. 20, while the office exensions are all 10 through 19)
