I am trying to setup a new R7 and my software is only good for R6!! I need the latest version as well as the PC Administrator software for the R7 Messaging Module!!

Anybody? HELP!

Also, while I'm here...how do you determine which ports you should use for the messaging module? I have a 4 port card, do they get automatically assigned or do you just pick them?

I have an R7 Processor, 308EC Module in the first slot on the left and the R7 Module in between? Should the R7 Messaging module be in the farthest 5 slot? The manual says "If Partner Messaging is installed in slot: 5" blah blah...well what if it isn't?

1. You should be able to get the correct admin software from (note lack of " Avaya is very good about making available.

2. The ports are dependent on what slot the Partner Messaging is located. Generally, the processor (assuming R7) is is located in slot 3 and has ports 10-18, slot 1 has ports 19-26, slot 2 has ports 27-34, slot 4 has ports 35-42, slot 5 has ports 43-50. This can change depending on what cards you have in the the slots prior to Partner Messaging.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. I did find the software on their website and after looking at the unit for awhile I realized how it was assigning ports...

I can't get my modem to act right with the system...and I still haven't found the Messaging module software yet but I'm looknig.

You're kidding...it says "documentation"...nothing about "software"!!
