I just purchased d-link wirelss card .
Do I need to have a router.
I installed this card but .
The problem is that i didn't install it right .
I don't know why.
I did everything right.
The manual says that if icon does apperar green you installed it right.
The icone is not green

You need a wireless access point or to be in a location that supplies a wireless signal.
The icon is red because there is no wireless signal or the available wireless signal is not matched up with your settings.
Click on the icon and see allow the card to scan for possible connections.

clicked on the icone
A message apperars with the title

Wireless Network connection
Choose a wirelss network
click an item in the list to connect etc...

It gives a 5 choices
1) Seul
2) silverco
3) cicnom
4) linksys
5) Mines Richmont

I clicked on Seul
It says

The network Seul requires a network key
Type the key and connect
Where do I get the key

Is the SEUL network yours, or does it belong to someone else? Come to that, do ANY of those listed belong to you?

If you have been given permission to use someone else's WiFi network, then the owner will give you a security code or key, which you can type in. Then you'll be able to connect...

Bear in mind that connecting to an open WiFi network without permission is an offence in many countries.

Yep..You need a wireless router in order to set up your own wireless network. Check this wireless network setup tutorial to set up your own wireless network.

If not, you might be able to connect to wireless network through public hotspot.
