Are company is looking at purchasing a polling device to dial into our customer's m1's etc, to check for alarms. Is anyone familar with these? Such as vendor names or specific products? Any help is greatly appreciated, Thank you.

Great! Thank you, I will check these out.

Is there one brand that you would recommend over another? From personal experience etc.

best bet is to write a simple script in procomm.. does the same thing, it's just much more flexable to your needs

for dial up access, Teltronics has the SEB modem that you program with triggers, it'll dial out and report alarms that are specified. That would be my choice....

we use seb's (1000's of them) to track customers for critical alarms.. they work, the newest are netpath seb by techtronics.. but those are on site.. if your working on a budget, a central server dialing each switch and doing a prt history would work UNLESS you need to know the minute a switch drops... 99 percent of our customers call way before our seb dispatch team can get a tech into the field..

they work great for non out of service as well... i can down a pri and usually hear rmats hit the inbound modem about the time i'm doing the enll command...
