I was just wondering if anyone has ever seen a call that was put on hold, then moves to a different line position? What could be causing the call to move to another line on the system? The current system is an Inter-tel Axxess. The phones are programmed with direct line appearances. The problem is intermittent, and I don't think I'll have the luxury of testing the lines independent from the system. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

It is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that placing a call on hold is moving a call from one *trunk* to another. This is *nearly* impossible.

Is this a new problem that popped up out of the blue? If so had you recently made any MACS (Moves adds changes)?

Smells like a software bug in the set or PBX. Does it happen on all sets? If not do the sets that have this problem share the same software version.

I would suggest contacting the vendor - make sure to have the software versions in hand when you do so.

Good luck.

Is this happening on all the phones? are they all programmed the same? are you talking about line apperance on the phone or physical trunks are changing?

The line moving from one trunk position to another trunk position has occurred on several phones. All phones are programmed the same, with direct line/trunk appearances of their 6 lines. I am beginning to think that I may have to try defaulting the CPU and restoring the database. Thank you for your feedback.

i have seen a feature that almost did that. hold recall timer, instead of beeping back to the set that put it on hold, "rolled" to a defined recall target.. not really a line moving but it did mimick that flow.. a pstn "sees" a 600 ohm loop. to the office (provider) a on hold call looks the same as a call in progress
