After upgrading the Mammoth drives in my Exabyte X-200 to Mammoth-2, ArcserveIT 6.61 has been giving all kinds of error messages during backup, such as:
TAPE E6096 Media Error [ABSL:0030 CMD:Ah]
TAPE ***TapeAlert*** The following information is for Device[2]:
TAPE W6904 The Tape drive is having problems reading data.
No data has been lost, but there has been a reduction in the performance of the tape.
TAPE W6906 The operation has stopped because an error has occurred while reading or writing data which the drive cannot correct.
TAPE E6913 Your data on tape[DAILY-M2] serial number[00000039] is at risk.
TAPE E6915 The tape is from a faulty batch or the tape drive is faulty.
E3714 Unable to write to media. (MEDIA=DAILY-M2, EC=UNRECOVERABLE DATA ERROR)
When I scan a tape I get:
..Source Session 1 on Media DAILY-M2
TAPE E6300 Windows NT SCSI PORT Error[ABSL:0020 CMD:8h] SCSI Command Retry.
E6300 Windows NT SCSI PORT Error[ABSL:0020 CMD:8h NT:45Dh 1117]
E3803 Invalid file trailer signature. (SIG=fd04142f)
E3802 Invalid file header signature. (SIG=6d178b37)
E3713 Unable to read from media. (MEDIA=????, EC=Hardware Error)
I'm using 170m excabyte tapes, some recycled and some new. I read in the Certified Device List that "M2 tape drive was certified using V02P firmware and 150m SmartClean media (100G)". Could that be my problem ?
Thanks.
