Configuring Paychex for use at a site and running into a seemingly simple issue...

Once configured and exported, the generated file needs to be imported into Excel as a Comma-Delimited Text File. When finished, Excel displays 8 fields (which should be the case as indicated by RKS).

The problem I'm having is that the Paychex Implementation Specialist sent me a spec sheet that defines 16 fields that they are expecting to output, and none of the 16 fields match the original 8 fields as indicated by RKS# 6076 (as far as labeling is concerned, a few fields look similar... "worker ID" is probably the ""Employee number").

Is anyone aware of a .cfg file hiding in the BOOTDRV\Aloha directory that can be edited/manipulated to output the rest of the information I'm missing? Or is it more likely this is hardcoded in the Aloha application and there is little to no manipulation that can be performed?

My other suspicion is that the employee records themselves, and potentially site-level configurations, do not have a value/are not configured, and therefore that missing data is simply not being output. However, there are some fields on the Paychex spec sheet that I just can't correlate to the Aloha application (ie: Units, Amount, Check, Pay Component).

If anyone has any insight it would be very much appreciated. Pretty stumped on this seemingly simple task.

Paychex has 2, maybe more, programs that customers can use. Preview and Online are the 2 I've used. There is a different spec for each of them.
Why not just buy an interface that already works vs trying to build your own? I buy from these guys, not for Aloha but works the same I am sure.

I'm an NCR reseller. This is for a large client with multiple sites that called Friday to inform us that they are moving to Paychex and that the first exports are needed by this coming Wednesday. While I appreciate your responding, this is the solution they've chosen and it's my job to make it work for them.

FYI...

Paychex Preview is the software that NAM and old AM were built to export to. The new product, Paychex Flex, requires a conversion export from Paychex's side. The other solution is for the client to use the Aloha Insight product which outputs custom exports. Insight costs money per site whereas the custom conversion option does not, though it requires some coordinating with the Paychex specialists to build as needed.

Paychex has changed their specs a few times over the last few years. We were interfacing to them at a site and found out about the Online program and that the older one became Preview. Doesn't surprise me that they would come up with another.
Is NCR Support able to help?

I wouldn't use Aloha Insight for payroll and labor. The biggest draw back right from the start - If you edit punches the next day (likewe do), they will not import into Insight without a repoll for the previous day. I have also seen a few odd instances when the sites only partially poll. You wouldn't catch either of these without doing daily audits of your Aloha data compared to Insight.

With that being said, I do see a Paychex Flex export available in Aloha Enterprise, as well as the regular exports.
