PAWcom and PT2004

We just upgraded our peachtree and pawcom to 2004. The new .mdb (pawdata270) file is 3 times the size of the pre-upgrade (pawdata253) file. Is this to be expected?

Also, is there a way to filter the refresh so that it only brings in the last two years (or any other way to make the .mdb smaller and more managable?). It's hanging on the refresh most of the time. It's just way too big for a MS access file.
