Hi all,

Is there a way to pause a macro at a certain point to allow for editing, and then allow the user to resume the macro where it left off?

I'm automating a data-entry process that will return an error message if some of the data is incorrect. What I would like to do is have the program pause, allow the user to change the data on the spreadsheet in front of them, and then resume the macro.

Any ideas?

Hi,

You have the opportunity to do event processing.

There is an event that preceed certain data entry and kicks off that process.

Then the user enters data.

There is an event that determines that the user has finished entering the data. Either it is an explicit event like the user hits a button, or it's an implicit event like upon finishing a set of data cells/controls, a background event detects the completeness of the data entry and fires the next procedure. There are implicit events like the Worksheet_Change or the Worksheet_SelectionChange events.

What is your process?
