I'm opening an AutoCAD 2000 DWG file in Illustrator 9. Some of the paths are fine but some are not closed. I can't figure out why some are closed and some aren't. I can easliy join points until the path is closed but I have hundreds of paths... How can I do this automatically or globally??? I'm so desperate at this point.. I'm gonna lose a customer if I don't figure this out!

Select all the lines for one shape and use the unite command found in the pathfinder. There are other tools in the pathfinder that might help out as well but the unite should get you through most of it. Not sure what the image looks like but you might be able to get away with a select all, and then a unite.
