I have a project saved to my local drive, which i have then saved into a public drive in order to access it on another computer to convert it form vb5 to vb6. I saved each form and modules individually from vb into the public folder and then saved the project there to. My problem is I'm getting a path not found error message when I try to access it in vb6. Do i have to open each form in vb6 and then resave the project or I'm I doing something wrong when saving the project?
Thanks for any help

You must add each form to the project. Even though you copied or move your project, vb does not know that. You must go and add the form again. Once you have the project open just add each form indivially. That should do it.

Good luck.

When "Saved" I assume that you used the SaveAs for each module. When you did that, VB changed the project file to look for that file in the new location. When your files are in the same folder as the project file, VB does not store the folder name as part of the file name but assumes that the file will be in the project folder and looks for it there.

Therefore, when I want to copy a folder of VB code and use it in another location, I just copy it using normal explorer options. VB will pick up the actual location of the modules using the folder that the project file is in.

Even when I want to use a copy of a module from one project in another, I copy it without using VB, being careful to also copy the FRX file, if any, for a FRM file. Generate Forms/Controls Resizing/Tabbing Class
Compare Code (Text)
Generate Sort Class in VB or VBScript
