Does anyone know what the pinout is from the 355af adapter to the admin port of the phone system? I know that a standard straight through patch cord works however I also know that you do not need all 8 conductors (I believe that you only need 4) I need to extend a connection over a 50PR feeder cable and this would help tremendously! Thank you for your help! (And yes, the length would be in the vicinity of 150FT which I had working at another site a few years back!)

Any help would be appreciated!

REDO!!! Pins #7 and #8 on the EIA-232 side are unused.

The unused pins on the RJ side are pins #1 and #8, which are Blue and Slate or w/orange and brown (568B), respectively.

Hope that helps!

Thank you soooo much! I will give it a try. I would normally use all 8 pins but the 50PR cable is running really tight with free pair and I wanted to only use what was necessary!

Believe it or not, I've used just 2-pairs, that's 4-conductors. 3/4/5/6 give it a try.

That's great, Tom! OK. I've got one last idea. How 'bout we squeeze it down to ONE pair. If you have an available analog station, you can always extend it out to a modem and *10 yourself into the switch.
