pasword for 46xx phones on IPO

Hi all. When i log on a 46xx ip phone to an IPO, the last thing it wants is a password. Where is this set on the switch? On the Definity it's set on the station form, but there is no field for it on IPO. Please help!

This is the password to connect the phone to the switch for the first time, ie to enter along with the ip addresses etc?

Yes I guess your are entering the address by hand and not dhcp .....

its should ask you for :
EXT # and then Password after you have set the ip address
on the phone ....I always leave it at 1234 as its easy to remeber if a user has an issue but you can use what you like

The exception is for users with no password, where during first setup (for example an auto-created user), the phone still seems to expect a password to be entered even though its not validated against anything on the switch.

Typically (due to an INDeX background) I just dial 0000#.

I usually just dial a # and no password at all.
