I produce a weekly booklet, whose content is mainly pasted in from emails, Word documents and Excel speradsheets. I usually just use Control+C and Control+V, and everything has worked fine.
Suddenly I find I can't paste anything in! I can paste Word into Word, Excel into Excel, but nothing into Publisher. Then I discover I can paste Word into Publisher by bringing up the Clipboard and pasting from there.
But I can't get anything from Excel to paste into Publisher like it used to.
I'm frantic! Any ideas????

You may have solved the problem already, but if not, are you using consistent versions of all the Office products - 2000, 2003, or 2007?
I have a related frustration. I was using Office 2000 including Publisher. Recently move up to Office/Publisher 2007. I also paste input received by email into Text frames in Publisher. It used to go very simply in 2000. Now, if I clipboard a paragraph and paste it into Publisher, every sentence has its own little frame with extra handles on it for rotating, and it's a lot of trouble to put it back as straight text in the frame. Matter of fact, I've given up cut and paste, and just retype the text from the email into Publisher (and I generate typos that way). I need to find a way to turn off the new 'feature'!

Fred: Try Paste Special.

derekmegg: Can you copy and paste within that Publisher document?

'Paste Special' worked - thank you JPaules! I hadn't seen it because I was using right-click to choose cut and paste, but Paste Special is in the Edit menu, doesn't appear in the Right-Click choices - now that I know where it is, my life is better. Thanks again!
