Hi. I have another question please...

I just can't find a way to paste a shortcut to a link ( http address?) on my desktop. I always have to open my internet explorer, and then opening the desired link.

is it possible to have the link right on the desktop. I would click on it and explorer would open on that page.
I convinced there must be a way...?

I can post shortcuts to folders, or programs, but no http links...

Can you help please?

thanks again for your time.

There are a few ways. Two of the easiest are:
[ul]
[li]If the page is already open in IE, simple click & drag the IE address bar to your desktop[/li]
[li]Right-click on some empty desktop space, New, shortcut, in the 'location' field just type the url like [ignore][/ignore][/li]
[/ul]

If you have it in your "Favorites" menu, you can...

1) Open Favorites menu
2) Right click on the link, select Copy
3) Close or Minimize any open windows
4) Right click on an open space on your Destktop, and Paste

well thanks you .

@smah. #2 worked like a charm
#1 doesn't work. I can't drag an IE address out of the box. nor can copy and paste the IE form the same box to the desktop. won't work. I use xp pro sp3. IE 7...

that's all right I don't mind. I'm happy with one way...

@ waytech2003. it works. thanks. will do.

best regards
stef

For smah's suggestion 1, you have to drag the little icon that is to left of the URL in the address bar, not the URL itself.

It's very easy to, actually.
1) Simply open the webpage you need a shortcut for.
2) Once the page is open, place the cursor anywhere within the page
3) Right click
4) Click on Create shortcut.
5) Click Yes.

Your done. I do it all the time for my users that I support.
