Paste Special formats across workbooks 2

Hello, I am trying to paste formats from one workbook to another.
Instead of getting a paste special formats when I click on paste special I get paste object. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

hi,

You have workbooks opend in DIFFERENT INSTANCES of Excel.

Close all workbooks, other than the workbook that you will COPY from.

Use the OPEN (ctr+O) feature to open any workbook that you want to PASTE into.
