Hello ...

I'm importing data into an Access database from an external source and I keep on getting 'Paste Errors'. I've never had problems with this happening before. Does anybody know why this might be happening?

Thanks in advance,
Ryan.

You need to provide a bit more info but this will happen when you try to paste data whose columns/data types don't match the receiving table.

Well ...

What's happening is I am importing data into an Access database from another source. I do this dynamically and not manually. When the import is done, I have tables appearing named 'Paste Errors' and I am unable to open the corresponding reports.

This has never happened before, so I was wondering why it might be happening all of a sudden.

Ryan.

It doesn't matter whether you're doing it manually or via code. You must have a data type mismatch between columns in your source and destination.

If your datatypes match you should check the properties on the receiving columns vs source. Eg if a destination table has a text column whose required property set to "yes" and you have data in the corresponding source column which is blank you will also get "PasteErrors".

You also get tables named PasteErrors when you are trying to copy records into a table with duplicate primary keys.

Thanks f or your help. Atleast that gets me started and gives me soem ideas.

Thanks,
Ryan.
