I sent my manager an Access query by copy/paste into Excel.
One of the fields is a date/time...
Now in Excel she is trying to build a pivot table, and that date time field
is not acting correctly as she is unable to sort the year, month.

Any ideas.

hi,

Query? What query?

I have a query that I run, and instead of exporting it, I copy/paste to excel....then
send. For some reason, my manager is unable to do a pivot on the date field.

I am guessing that when you paste your query that Excel does not recognize the dates as dates but as text.

When you say QUERY, I immediately think of SQL code.

So did you mean QUERY or Resultset of data from your query?

If the former, then please paste several representative rows of data.

And if the latter, why not query the Access data in Excel directly, rather than copy 'n' paste?
