We have a policy whereby all users change their passwords every 90 days and are supposed to advise the IT department.
Whenever we work on a users PC we must log back in as them using their password so that when they switch on their PC they see their username displayed. Unfortunalty users are not very good at telling the IT department when they have changed their passwords which leads to problems if we need to access their PC's for updates or maintenance etc.

Does anyone know if there is any way in which I can capture the users Password when they change it and have it saved to a file on the server to get me around this issue? Or any other suggestions on how to get around this?

Many Thanks

Me thinks there's some hacker utilities, er admin tools, out there which can do so. But I am not steering anyone in that direction.

Question, why not perform the maintenance while logged in as yourself or as administrator???
