Passwords with links in Excel

Howdy all,
I have a somewhat wierd situation...
I have a trader that has linked an excel 2000 spreadsheet to another spreadsheet and it requires both passwords. I have never seen this happen before, generally the linked sheet just processes normally with the need for the extra password. I have checked all the settings and still can't figure out why the linked sheet is requiring a second password.
Any help would be appreciated!

Karebear,
Perhaps the Password to Open is different from the Password to Modify the file.
