Passwords for Crystal 7

I want to password protect against anyone opening, seeing and or updating my Crystal Reports code.

I looked for a Crystal "Save As" that would offer password protection but did not see the option

Is this possible.....?????

What is your database and database version? Are the reports part of an app you want to distribute? Malcolm Wynden

The app is accounting and is call ReMACS
A saved external crystal.rpt is used by the app.
The app get sold that way
I do not want anyone to be able to open the crystal.rpt and see my coding or worst of all try to update it.

I suspect you are looking for something that does not require any tweaking to the app. You could use the special field Modification Date, and have some sort of strange behaviour be triggered by a formula if this Date were different than what you expected, such as displaying the message "What makes you think you know how to write Crystal Reports better than me? I'm watching you.", or if you want to be really cruel, adding a random number to every 13th record.
If you can tweak the app, then you could consider changing the file name and extension, or encrypting the file with some 3rd party tool appropriate to your development environment - even Winzip could do this.
The best way to prevent people from updating your report is to demonstrate to them that you can do the best job. You should have a significant advantage if you understand both the database structure and the clients' needs. They will then choose (and recommend) you over your competition.
