I'm running IIS 5.0 on a windows 2000 server.
I have a few web sites and also intranet sites in this server.
I will be installing server extensions on a certain web.
Once I do this, just about anybody could edit this site. So, my question is :
How can I protect this site just for editing ,with a usename and password?

Thanks ...

If you are on IIS disable some of the permissions for the site and have the folder it is located in set as read-only perhaps?
Then make it so that you have the folder permission only to change files inside

The way web design should be

What version server extensions will you be installing. You will want to configure the permissions on the site for anonymous browse only, make sure that you don't have anonymous settings for author permissions and set up a user for author rights and/or administration rights.
