HI, I need help.
I'm beginner in ORACLE and now I installed the product and I don't know what is the password to login.

Thank you very much

hi,
My friend used my handle to post this question, the problem that we are having is that we just installed Oracle 8.0.5
and it is asking for a Login and Password. Does it has a default user?

Thank you

Frederico O. Hida

Terry is right that every Oracle database has at least these three ids: sys, system, and internal. If you created a database as part of your install, you should be able to log on using one of these ids.

I'm fairly sure that the default password for sys is "change_on_install", and for system it's "manager".

You will also probably have issues with setting up net8, but that's another topic.

If you've made default installation your database probably has scott/tiger user with the rights of ordinary, not dba user and some sample objects in his schema.
