Hi,

The username/password combination doesn't work in my laptop when it is connected to the network (Home-LAN). When I remove the network connection, I can login succesfully. When I try to login with the laptop in network, Error message popups saying, the domain server cannot validate the password. and If I click OK, a window popups with username, password and Doman textboxes (all of the filled with the defaul values, If I click OK again, anothe error message popups saying "cannot login to domain some network resources cannot be used", but successfully logs me in to the local box. Why this is happening, am I missing some configuration here?

Sounds like you have it trying to logon to a domain, uncheck the following option:

Right click network neighborhood, go to properties. Double click Client for Microsoft Networks, and uncheck logon to windows domain. Click ok a couple times, reboot.

This option should only be checked when you have a windows server running a domain involved. If you do, and it just isn't working, then you have the wrong username/password combination, or the workstation is having trouble communicating with the server (usually an incorrect tcp/ip setting)

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.

Go to your Control Panel, click on Network, and in Primary Network Logon area, change choice to Windows Logon.
