I'm trying to build a corporate intranet site and I would like to know if it's possible to do password protection with dreamweaver. In other words, I would like to make certain files only accessible to certain users. Is this possible with dreamweaver? If not, how can I do this? THanks.
tinyswat

Hiya....would it be possible to tell me the answer to this problem once you know how to do this....I'm having the same problem over here in DW...jaspal@kap.co,uk , if I manage to solve this problem I will let you know aswell...cheers

The only way I know is to use a javascript for protecting pages. The actual script would be placed on the actual page you're trying to protect so therefore knowone would be able view it in the source code. It's not 100% fool proof, but for an Intranet site it should be ok.
You can get these scripts at any javascript site such as javascript.com

hope this helps

M.B.

The best way to set up password protection is through your server. Ask your host for help. Javascript is too easy to go around and is not secure.
