If I follow you correctly
You require Permissions on files in a folder.
If so this can only be done on and NTFS partition.
If its a FAT partition it will Passwords are not part of it.
So NTFS partitions are only available on NT workstations and NT servers If they were set up that way.
If the above statements are true

Then contact your Administrator to help you with this.
DougP... please Slap me.... if I'm being stupid again.... a work around (I know.... I'm very simplistic...) couldn't be to use Two... that's 2 Excel files where you will put your publick worksheet on one of them and the rest of the sheets on the second (making it password protected) and setting up macros or links to open the second one.

All the data could be read from the first one into the second one anyway.....

Like I said.... my brain functions at very basic levels... but it does so... with lots and lots of LUUUUUUUV........

... as always... feel free to insult me at anytime for being so stupid....!
Dumboy.! Ouch.! .my brain.....
spiderdesign@yahoo.com

It's hard to think with only one neuron......Ouch.....!....it hurts when I think......!
