What is the easiest way to password protect a web site? I would like people to enter via the home page. If they go one route its freely available but if they go another, it asks for a username and password.

I am not too technical so what would be the best and easiest way of doing this?

Thanks very much
Didi

Yeah, lebisol is right with the htaccess route. It can become a little confusing, though. I had to reread a few times.

If you're asp familiar, 4guysfromrolla have a good tutorial on the password thing, as well. Used that for a client site a few years ago.

Good luck,
Max
