Password Protect PowerPoint?

I want to password protect a powerpoint presentation or at the very minimum, make the file read only. Can this be done? I have a number of enterprising co-workers who like to tinker with things and make changes-often inappropriately. Can I by chance, make a file that has to be stored on a shared directory read only, or password protected?
