I haven't done this one in a while!

The customer has a lunch room phone and shipping phone they want to restrict to internal calls only unless a password is entered to allow local, long distance and 800 call on.

Example, shipping manager walks up to shipping phone and needs to call a freight carrier, that is long distance, he needs to enter the password (can be the same password for everyone)so he can call and check on the freight. However, currently every "yahoo" in the shipping department is calling local, long distance and 800's on the company system.
The system is a MICS w/r3
Thanks in advance for the help!

Restricting a phone and COS password programming

Go into programming Feature * * 266344 Password: 266344
Terminals&Sets - Press the upper right button that has lit up in your display.
Show set: ___ - Enter the extension number you want to program. i.e., 223
223:223 - Press the upper right button again
Line access - PRess the lower right button until you see
Restrictions - Upper right button
Restrn Filters - Lower right
Set Restrns - Upper right
Filters - Upper right
Normal: 02 - Press the change button that comes up in your display.
Use flt: __ - Enter 01
Normal: 01
Now this phone is restricted from all Toll calls. Filter 01 is set up by default for restricting all calls that cost money. Of course I am assuming that the filter hasn't been edited or changed in any way.

To set up a COS password - This will allow those who have the code to make long distance calls from a restricted phone.

Go back into programming

Terminals&Sets – Lower right until you see
Passwords – Upper right
COS passwords – Upper right
Show pswd #: __ - Lower right
COS Pswd #00 – Upper right
Pswd 00: None – Press the change button in your display and enter whatever 6 digits you want to be the password.
Pswd 00: 123456
Pswd 00: 123456 – Lower right
User flt: None – Press change and enter filter 00
User flt: __ - 00
User flt: 00

Now walk up to any restricted phone, press Feature 68. The date and time will go away, dial the 6 digit code. Date and time come back, pick up the handset, select a line and dial your phone number. When you hang up the restrictions are back in place. To make another restricted call you will need to re-enter Feature 68 and your 6 digit COS password.

You can create a restriction filter and add the area code that you want to restrict and asssign that filter to the extension (Kitchen, whatever),then go to password and create a password (6 digts)to unrestricted filter (ie 00or 02).then for the supervisior to use that he will dial F86 and the 6 digts password and he will override the restriction for that phone for that call only ,once he hang up the phone will be restricted again.

Good Luck

Sorry I don't mean to repeat information, but you are too quick.
